n a special interview, Lebanese poet Nizar Francis revealed hidden musical treasures from his work with the late Lebanese music legend Melhem Barakat that have never been released.
Francis shared details of several songs he worked on with Barakat that remain unreleased to this day.
He also presented one of the songs he wrote as a personal reflection on his grief following Barakat’s death.
The song includes an emotional passage expressing his longing and his determination not to forget his longtime collaborator.
Francis also explained why these works have yet to be released.
According to him, the process is no longer simply a matter between him and Barakat. Any release now requires agreement and coordination with the late artist’s family and heirs.
This has added further complications to the process of bringing these valuable pieces of musical history to the public.
