At one point, an MP tried to appeal to the Speaker for additional speaking time, saying: “Mr. Speaker, please give me a little more time. I haven’t asked for much.” Berri responded firmly, insisting on keeping the session moving and limiting the time allotted for speeches.
The exchange continued amid objections and raised voices in the chamber, with MPs making sarcastic side comments about the way the session was being managed. Other lawmakers eventually intervened to calm the situation, accompanied by joking remarks that “Speaker Berri is enjoying himself” amid the lively atmosphere in Parliament.
